Statement on the Anniversary of Peoples Power

Tomorrow, February 25, CenterLaw will celebrate the 1986 People Power Revolution as a non-working holiday for all of its staff. Since 1987, the Philippines has commemorated People Power Revolution as a non-working holiday. This holiday honors the important struggle waged and won against the corrupt and violent regime of the Marcos dictatorship. This year, and the previous year, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has designated February 25 as a “working holiday.” By celebrating the anniversary with due regard for its legacy, CenterLaw and Butuyan and Rayel Law Offices remain committed to the preservation of the significance of the People Power Revolution to the nation and to the safeguarding of political freedoms throughout the Philippines.
