CenterLaw in Northern Mindanao

Government Prosecutors, private lawyers and Civil Society advocates gather for the seminar on the Investigation and Prosecution of Extrajudicial killings, Enforced Disappearances and Torture

Government Prosecutors, private lawyers and Civil Society advocates from Northern Mindanao attended Centerlaw’s seminar on the Investigation and Prosecution of Extrajudicial killings, Enforced Disappearances and Torture at Cagayan de Oro City on October 25-26, 2009.

This seminar for Northern Mindanao-based prosecutors was patterned after the similar program earlier held at Eastern Visayas but had a different thrust because Mindanao has an ongoing armed conflict. The emphasis shifted towards strengthening the prosecutors’ capacity towards building cases against violations of international humanitarian law.

CenterLaw worked with American Bar Association (ABA), Konrad Adenauer Stiftung’s (KAS) Rule Of Law Programme Asia and Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) in this project.#
